The General Secretary of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, Dr. Ali Al-Qaraaghi, participated in the 'Awn and Sanad' campaign, which was launched by the Qatar Charity Organization on Friday, February 10th, 2013, with the aim of providing urgent aid to the victims of the earthquake that struck southern Turkey and northern Syria on the morning of the previous Monday. The campaign was carried out in cooperation with Qatar Charity and the Qatar Red Crescent, and was represented by Qatar Media Foundation on Qatar Television.
The 'Awn w Sanad' campaign concluded at 2:30 AM, raising a substantial amount of 168 million riyals and 500 thousand Qatari riyals for the earthquake victims in Syria and Turkey. In his capacity, Dr. Ali Al- Qaraaghi encouraged all members of the Arab and Islamic communities to show their support by contributing to the campaign. He highlighted the significance of charity in Islam, highlighting its significance in the lives of Muslims and the great reward it brings from Allah.
It is imperative to note that the IUMS has demonstrated its support for those affected by the catastrophe from day one. Numerous scholars from the assembly have expressed their condolences and solidarity through various social media platforms. Additionally, they have actively participated in numerous television programs and aid campaigns aimed at collecting donations and providing assistance to the people in both Syria and Turkey.
We pray to Allah to bestow His abundant mercy upon the victims, to give their families and loved ones strength and patience, to grant a swift recovery to those who are injured, and to protect the countries and their people from all harm, while preserving their peace and security.
