Following a visit to Turkey, a delegation of senior scholars from the International Union of Muslim Scholars traveled to Jindires in the Afrin region of Aleppo province in Syria, where they are working to provide assistance and support to those affected by the earthquake that shook the northern region of Turkey.

This effort was organized as part of the Union's initiative to provide aid to those affected around the world, in coordination and cooperation with the relevant authorities in the affected countries. The Syrian areas surrounding the Turkish border were affected by this earthquake, the strongest since 1995. The presence of the delegation of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, which includes the Secretary-General and a number of senior members including Sheikh Osama al-Rifai, the Mufti of Syria, Sheikh Wasef Ashour, the head of the Purification and Legal Education Committee, Sheikh Abdulwahab Eikinji, the president of the Ummah Association in Turkey, Sheikh Ahmed Saeed Hawa, and others, reflects the Union's commitment to the values of solidarity and cooperation, and to enhancing human relations between peoples and nations.

It is worth mentioning that the International Union of Muslim Scholars attaches great importance to providing aid to Muslims affected around the world, and this is done solely for the sake of Allah, and its work is not subject to any specific international policy. As part of its commitment and responsibility to the community, the Union continues to organize relief and charity campaigns to help alleviate the suffering of people affected by tragic events and natural disasters.
