Sheikh Mohammed Al-Hassan Al-Daddo, the Secretary-General of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, has called upon the Ummah (Muslim community) to stand in solidarity with Al-Aqsa Mosque and the steadfast people of Palestine.
In a recorded speech during the Scholars of the Ummah Forum, Sheikh Al-Daddo emphasized that supporting Al-Aqsa Mosque is a religious obligation and that thwarting the flag march is a necessary response against Zionism. He urged all members of the Ummah to actively support and defend Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Furthermore, Sheikh Al-Daddo stressed the importance of supporting the resilience of the people in Gaza and the West Bank, urging the Ummah to work together to foil the occupation's plans. He emphasized that it is the collective duty of the Ummah to stand against these injustices.
These statements come at a critical time when calls have been made to strengthen ties and fortify the presence in the sacred Al-Aqsa Mosque in order to counter the provocative Zionist flag march, scheduled to take place on the anniversary of the so-called Jerusalem Unification Day.
Settlers and extremist Zionist groups have announced their intention to organize the flag march in the occupied city of Jerusalem. The march will commence from the western part of Jerusalem, heading towards the Western Wall, which is adjacent to Al-Aqsa Mosque. The settlers will take two routes: the first route enters the Old City through the Damascus Gate, where extremists gather and perform provocative dances with flags. They then pass through the Islamic Quarter, proceeding along the Valley Road towards the final celebration station at Al-Buraq Plaza. The second route enters through the Hebron Gate, passing through the Armenian Quarter and ending at Al-Buraq Plaza.
Aryeh King, the Deputy Mayor of the occupation municipality in Jerusalem, recently announced new routes for the flag march through a tweet.
King called upon the participants to take different paths, including one that starts from the Beit Orot settlement in the Silwan neighborhood, passing through the Mount of Scopus, and another path from the Har Hazeitim settlement in the Ras al-Amud neighborhood, traversing the Mount of Olives.
To ensure the security of the flag march and its passage through the Damascus Gate and the Old City, the Israeli occupation forces are preparing to deploy thousands of personnel. It is expected that extremist figures such as Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir, Minister of Finance Bezalel Smotrich, as well as ministers of media, environment, absorption, heritage, and others, will participate in the march.
These developments have prompted Sheikh Mohammed Al-Hassan Al-Daddo and others to call upon the Ummah to unite, take action, and defend the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the rights of the Palestinian people.
