The Union congratulates the Islamic nation and reminds them of the significance of the blessed Eid al-Adha

The World Union of Muslim Scholars congratulates the Islamic nation, including leaders and people, scholars and intellectuals, and reminds them of the meanings of the blessed Eid al-Adha.

The World Union of Muslim Scholars seizes the opportunity of the blessed Eid al-Adha, the festival of sacrifices, to complete their pilgrimage and attain the satisfaction of the Merciful God, as well as to glorify Allah while standing in the fields of Arafat, repeating: "Labbaik Allahumma Labbaik, Labbaik La Sharika Laka Labbaik, Innal Hamda Wan-Ni'mata Laka Wal-Mulk, La Sharika Lak" (Here I am, O Allah, here I am. Here I am, You have no partner, here I am. Verily, all praise, grace, and sovereignty belong to You. You have no partner).

This Eid carries great meanings and the greatest principles that the Islamic nation must adhere to, including:

1- The meaning of sacrifice for the sake of Allah, as our leader Ibrahim (peace be upon him) was determined to sacrifice his son and agreed to sacrifice him and his mother. This serves as a comprehensive example for adults and children, men and women, and we must emulate them in giving and unlimited generosity to those in need.

2- The meanings of monotheism and glorifying Allah alone to achieve pure servitude to the Almighty.

3- The meanings of unity and warning against division and discord.

Unfortunately, our nation has suffered significant division, with internal fighting, which the Prophet, peace be upon him, referred to as disbelief in his farewell sermon when he said, "Do not turn back as disbelievers, striking each other's necks." This means that we must not return divided. Therefore, the nation must extinguish the fires of sedition and internal fighting, achieve comprehensive reconciliation, and work together to reach unity.

4- Achieving complete abandonment of all ignorant customs and ideas such as racism and nationalism, and the necessity of achieving one united nation whose affiliation is to its creed and divine principles. This is embodied in the saying, "When one part of the body complains, the entire body responds." While maintaining national and tribal characteristics for cooperation and solidarity.

This is our hope, as Muslim scholars, for our nation to return to its goodness, as Allah says, "You are the best nation produced [as an example] for mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and believe in Allah."

May you all be well, and may you have a blessed year.
