IUMS Mourns the Passing of Esteemed Libyan Sheikh Abdul Latif Al-Shuaifari, May Allah Have Mercy on Him

With hearts filled with acceptance of Allah’s decree, we mourn the passing of the esteemed scholar and preacher, Sheikh Abdul Latif Al-Shuaifari, who passed away at the age of 93, after a life full of dedication to calling to Allah, seeking knowledge, and teaching.

"O tranquil soul, return to your Lord, well-pleased and pleasing [to Him], and enter among My [righteous] servants and enter My Paradise." (Al-Fajr: 27-30)

Sheikh Abdul Latif Al-Shuaifari, may Allah have mercy on him, was a distinguished scholar, jurist, literary figure, and educator from Libya. He was a mentor to many and spent his blessed life in the pursuit of knowledge, teaching, benefiting others, giving generously, and serving the community. He was truly a memory of the Ummah.

The Islamic Ummah has lost a devoted and esteemed scholar and educator. We ask Allah, the Almighty, to forgive him, have mercy on him, grant him vast mercy, pardon him, reward him abundantly, honor his abode, admit him to the highest Paradise, and gather him with the Prophets, the truthful, the martyrs, and the righteous, and what an excellent companionship they are. We also ask Allah to grant patience and solace to his family, loved ones, and colleagues. Indeed, He is the best Master and the best Responder.
