The International Union of Muslim Scholars extends its heartfelt condolences on the passing of Sheikh Mohammed Ali Sultan Al-Ulama, who departed this world on Monday, July 15, 2024, after a life enriched with scholarly and philanthropic contributions.
"In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate.
The Almighty says: 'O reassured soul, return to your Lord, well-pleased and pleasing [to Him], and enter among My [righteous] servants And enter My Paradise.' (The Dawn: 27-30)"
With hearts resigned to Allah's decree, we mourn the loss of Sheikh Mohammed Ali Sultan Al-Ulama. Born in 1920, he memorized the Holy Quran early in life and received his initial education from his father, Sheikh Imam Abdul Rahman bin Yusuf, known as 'Sultan Al-Ulama.' He furthered his studies in India and at Al-Azhar University.
Sheikh Mohammed Ali Sultan Al-Ulama lived a prolific life as a teacher and author, educating hundreds of students and scholars, and authored over seventy books, including notable works like "The Path to Happiness and Rectitude" and "The Essence of Arafat in the Interpretation of the Quran."
His charitable projects left a significant mark, establishing mosques, schools, colleges, hospitals, and Quran learning centers across various countries, thus contributing to the cultural and social advancement of communities.
Recognized for his outstanding contributions and achievements, he was honored as the 'Islamic Personality of the Year' at the twentieth session of the Dubai International Holy Quran Award.
At this profound loss, the International Union of Muslim Scholars offers its deepest condolences and sincerest sympathies to his esteemed family and the entire Muslim community, praying for Allah the Almighty to forgive him, have mercy on him, grant him paradise, and assemble him with the prophets, the truthful, the martyrs, and the righteous.
We also pray for patience and consolation for his family, loved ones, and colleagues. Truly, to Allah we belong and to Him we shall return.
