Statement
of Condemnation for Israel's Crimes in Palestine and Lebanon
The
International Union of Muslim Scholars is deeply saddened by the ongoing crimes
committed by the occupying Zionist forces in Gaza and Lebanon, along with the
use of all types of deadly and destructive weapons against the very fabric of
life and infrastructure.
The
International Union of Muslim Scholars expresses its strong condemnation and
deep outrage at the brutal crimes and gross violations perpetrated by the
Zionist occupation forces against the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples.
These
repeated assaults are a grave injustice and a significant corruption of the
earth, as Allah says: “And they strive throughout the land [causing]
corruption, and Allah does not like corrupters” (Al-Ma'idah: 64). They
represent tyranny and a blatant violation of all religious laws, international
statutes, and humanitarian principles.
What is
occurring in terms of killings and destruction in Palestine and Lebanon, along
with the targeting of children, women, and the elderly, in addition to the
destruction of homes, schools, and hospitals, are unjustifiable criminal acts
that contradict humanitarian principles and the ethics of war. These acts are
crimes against humanity and life itself, which must be denounced by all
individuals who seek to prevent and oppose them by all legal and political
means possible.
These
actions, aimed at destroying infrastructure, displacing civilians, and
instilling fear and terror in the hearts of innocents, constitute a direct
assault on the right of peoples to live freely and safely on their own land.
In
fulfilling its religious duty, the Union emphasizes the following:
1.
We affirm the right of peoples to defend themselves
and reclaim their usurped rights, and we declare our full solidarity with the
Palestinian and Lebanese peoples in their legitimate struggle against
occupation and aggression.
2.
We stress the necessity of holding the perpetrators of
these crimes accountable and applying international justice against them. The
Islamic nations and all free peoples and their governments must bear the
religious, humanitarian, and ethical responsibility to pursue this matter.
3.
We call upon the international community, the United
Nations, and human rights organizations to intervene immediately to halt these
crimes and provide urgent protection for the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples.
4.
Concrete measures must be taken to impose punitive
sanctions on the Zionist occupying state and to halt all forms of support that
contribute to the continuation of its occupation and aggression.
And Allah is
the Bestower of success.
