In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate
Statement of the International Union of Muslim Scholars Regarding the Atrocities Against the Besieged People of Gaza
O People of Islam and those with a sound conscience:
The people of Gaza, especially in the north, are being exterminated, killed by hunger and disease as well. Where is your brotherhood and sense of honor? By Allah, you will be held accountable if you do not fulfill your duty.
The text of the statement:
All praise is due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah. To proceed:
In these distressing days, we address the Islamic Ummah and the free people of the world with a cry for help from our people in Gaza, particularly from the north of the Strip, which is suffering from complete isolation and a cruel siege. Hunger and thirst are ravaging the innocent, and the streets are filled with martyrs, while the Nazi Zionist occupation commits the most heinous crimes against our people there, through starvation, thirst, famine, killing, and bombardment, leaving the streets overflowing with the bodies of martyrs, without mercy or deterrence.
What is happening in Gaza is not just a military assault, but a deliberate genocide being committed in full view of the entire world. The international silence on these crimes is a tacit participation in these atrocities and reveals the complicity of the forces of injustice and tyranny that support this brutal occupation.
We, at the International Union of Muslim Scholars, strongly condemn these heinous crimes, which amount to war crimes, and we call on the international community to assume its legal, moral, and humanitarian responsibility toward these ongoing massacres.
We also issue an urgent appeal to the Islamic Ummah and to all the free people of the world: The time has come for immediate and effective action in support of your brothers in Gaza. Massive demonstrations must be held everywhere. Raise your voices on every platform, and expose the crimes of this criminal, terrorist occupation. Every minute that passes without action increases the suffering and adds to the number of victims.
Allah Almighty says:
"And what is [the matter] with you that you fight not in the cause of Allah and for the oppressed among men, women, and children who say, 'Our Lord, take us out of this city of oppressive people and appoint for us from Yourself a protector and appoint for us from Yourself a helper?'" [Al-Nisa: 75].
We ask Allah the Almighty to protect our people in Gaza, to lift this affliction from them, and to provide them with relief and a way out. We also ask Him to expose the enemies of truth and humanity, and to defeat the oppressive aggressors.
