The Union President Chairs a Preparatory Meeting with the General Secretariat and Committee Heads Ahead of the Union's Board of Trustees Meetings

As part of preparations for the upcoming Board of Trustees meetings of the International Union of Muslim Scholars (IUMS), scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, November 30 and December 1, 2024, the Union’s President, Sheikh Dr. Ali Mohieddin Al-Qaradaghi, chaired a preparatory meeting this Thursday, November 28, 2024, at the Union’s headquarters in Doha.

Agenda of the Meeting

  • Review of the 2024 Annual Report: Highlighting the achievements of the committees and addressing the challenges they faced.
  • Discussion of the 2025 Action Plan: Aiming to enhance performance and outline future priorities.
  • Mechanisms for Presenting Reports: Agreement on how committee reports will be presented during the Board of Trustees meeting.
  • Discussion of Current Developments and Issues: Defining the Union’s roles in addressing challenges facing the Muslim Ummah.

The Board of Trustees Meeting

  • Participation: 42 members will attend in person out of 52 total members, while the remaining 10 members will participate via remote communication.
  • Objectives: Promoting inclusivity in decision-making, discussing vital issues, and reviewing the Union’s strategic directions.

The Union supervises 14 specialized committees addressing various aspects of Islamic and da’wah work, including:

  1. The Ijtihad and Fatwa Committee
  2. The Media Committee
  3. The Thought and Islamic Principles Committee
  4. The Endowment and Investment Committee
  5. The Family Affairs Committee
  6. The Purification and Islamic Education Committee
  7. The Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Committee
  8. The Reconciliation Committee
