Doha: The Secretary-General of the Union Receives a Delegation from Silk Road House of China

As part of efforts to strengthen cultural and academic ties between China and the Islamic world, His Eminence the Secretary-General of the Union, Sheikh Dr. Ali Al-Sallabi, welcomed a delegation from the Chinese Silk Road House. The meeting focused on exploring avenues for joint cooperation in promoting Islamic culture.
His Eminence expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the visiting delegation for their blessed efforts in translating several of his works into Chinese, a pioneering step aimed at spreading knowledge and fostering understanding between nations.
The translations included books highlighting prominent Islamic figures such as:
- Uthman ibn Affan,
- Ali ibn Abi Talib,
- Muawiyah ibn Abi Sufyan,
- Umar ibn Abdul Aziz,
as well as studies on historical entities like the Almoravids, the Seljuks, the Fatimids, Salah al-Din al-Ayyubi, and the Ottoman Empire.
The books Uthman ibn Affan and Ali ibn Abi Talib have gained widespread popularity in China, with thousands of copies printed, reflecting the Chinese audience's interest in learning about Islamic history and culture.
As part of their continued cultural efforts, the Silk Road House delegation announced the launch of a project to translate the Quranic Stories Series and the Encyclopedia of Prophets and Messengers, Peace Be Upon Them into Chinese. This initiative underscores their commitment to broadening the understanding of Islamic knowledge and introducing the teachings of the Quran to Chinese society.
At the conclusion of the visit, His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Ali Al-Sallabi prayed for the success and blessing of these noble efforts, hoping they would be sincerely dedicated to the Almighty and contribute to spreading goodness and guidance, reaching the hearts of people.
He also expressed his hope that this cooperation would serve as a model for fostering communication between nations and promoting values of peace and wisdom.
