Al-Qahtani Officially Appointed Head of the Union’s Qatar Branch
His
Eminence Sheikh Ali Mohiuddin Al-Qaradaghi, President of the International
Union of Muslim Scholars, received Sheikh Dr. Ayesh Al-Qahtani at his office at
the Union’s headquarters in Doha on Saturday, April 11. The meeting was
attended by Sheikh Ali Al-Sallabi, Secretary-General, along with Assistant
Secretaries-General Sheikh Fadl Murad and Sheikh Sultan Al-Hashemi.
The
meeting commenced with remarks by the President of the Union, in which he
reviewed the Union’s journey since its establishment and highlighted its key
developmental milestones, noting its role in serving the causes of the Muslim
community and strengthening a balanced scholarly reference framework.
As part
of efforts to advance institutional work, the Union’s leadership and the
General Secretariat agreed to appoint Dr. Ayesh Al-Qahtani as Head of the
Union’s branch in the State of Qatar. This step aims to enhance the Union’s
presence and activate its programs and initiatives at the local level.
It was
also decided to hold subsequent working sessions between the newly appointed
branch head and the Secretary-General to review approved regulations, examine
branch files, and develop executive plans that will contribute to improving
operational efficiency in the coming phase.
During
the meeting, attendees congratulated Dr. Ayesh Al-Qahtani on this appointment,
wishing him success in his duties. He, in turn, expressed his gratitude and
appreciation to the Union’s leadership, affirming his commitment to exerting
every effort to serve the Union’s objectives and strengthen its societal role.
Dr.
Ayesh Al-Qahtani is regarded as a prominent religious and social figure in the
State of Qatar. He is known for his active role in psychological and family
counseling, his media presence in awareness programs, as well as his
participation in charitable initiatives and contributions to promoting
educational and social values.
