The Union President Holds Expanded Meeting with the General
Secretariat to Review Achievements and Enhance Institutional Performance
Doha –
His Eminence Sheikh Ali Muhyiddin Al-Qaradaghi, President of the Union, held an
expanded meeting on Saturday afternoon, April 11, with His Eminence Sheikh Ali
Muhammad Al-Sallabi, Secretary-General, in the presence of the Assistant
Secretaries-General, His Eminence Sheikh Fadl Abdullah Murad and His Eminence
Sheikh Sultan Ibrahim Al-Hashemi. The meeting took place within the framework
of reviewing the General Secretariat’s accomplishments and following up on work
progress over the past period.
His
Eminence opened the meeting with a speech praising the level of cooperation and
coordination between the Union’s Presidency and the General Secretariat across
various fields of work, stressing the importance of sincerity in performance,
and citing the قوله تعالى (words of God
Almighty): “And to your Lord direct [your] longing” (Qur’an 94:8), in a way
that reinforces sustainable impact and achieves the desired benefit for the
Ummah.
During
the meeting, the Secretary-General presented a detailed briefing on the most
prominent achievements accomplished during the first three months of the
current year, reviewing the extent of efforts exerted by the General
Secretariat despite the exceptional circumstances related to the war, which
also necessitated two weeks of remote work.
The
presentation also covered implemented projects, the mechanisms of weekly,
monthly, and periodic meetings—whether with branch heads or committees—as well
as activities carried out either in person at the Union’s headquarters or
through remote communication platforms.
The
meeting witnessed an extensive discussion, during which the President and the
Assistant Secretaries-General raised a number of observations and development
proposals, to be incorporated into the report and finalized after making the
necessary amendments.
This
meeting comes as part of the Union leadership’s commitment to strengthening
institutional work, enhancing performance levels, and ensuring continuous
follow-up of various activities and programs, in a manner that fulfills the
Union’s objectives and mission.
