A
Sit-in in Tunisia in Support of Gaza Against the Genocide and Siege Imposed by
the Zionist Occupation
Tunisian activists
organized a sit-in on Saturday evening in the center of the capital, Tunis, in
support of the Gaza Strip amid the ongoing bombardment, genocide, and siege
imposed by the Zionist occupation, and the deprivation of the Palestinian
people in the enclave from celebrating Eid al-Adha and performing the Hajj
pilgrimage.
The sit-in, called
for by the “Friends of Palestine” Association in Tunisia (independent), was
held under the slogan: “Angry for Gaza.. Bombardment, Siege, and an Eid Without
Sacrifices,” with the participation of dozens of activists in front of the Municipal
Theatre in the capital, according to an Anadolu correspondent.
On the sidelines of
the sit-in, the Vice President of the “Friends of Palestine” Association, Reda
Dabbabi, said that the gathering aims to condemn the ongoing bombardment,
genocide, and siege imposed by the Zionist occupation, which coincided with the
days of Eid al-Adha.
Dabbabi added: “We
condemn the new genocide that Gaza has been subjected to and the restrictions,
and the bloodshed of Gazans and their children who were martyred over the past
three days.”
He expressed his
regret over “an Eid passing without sacrifices, and the continued deprivation
of Gazans from performing the Hajj pilgrimage for the third consecutive year,
the absence of sacrificial offerings, and the transformation of Eid joy into
suffering and genocide.”
Dabbabi stressed
that “for the third consecutive season since the beginning of the genocidal war
(October 2023), there is no Eid, no Hajj, and no sacrifices in Gaza.”
He also condemned
talk about seizing 70 percent of the Gaza Strip, saying this would mean a new,
systematic, and silent displacement, which he described as a major catastrophe.
Earlier on Saturday,
the Ministry of Health in Gaza announced in a statement the killing of 7
Palestinian martyrs over the past 48 hours, bringing the total death toll from
the genocide committed by the Zionist occupation since October 2023 to 72,938
martyrs.
The ministry added
that the toll of Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement announced on
October 10, 2025, has risen to “929 martyrs and 2,811 injured,” in addition to
781 recovery cases.
On October 8, 2023,
the Zionist occupation launched a war on the Gaza Strip that lasted two years,
leaving widespread destruction in infrastructure and an unprecedented
humanitarian crisis alongside tens of thousands of martyrs and wounded.
