ألقى سماحة مفتي أستراليا وعضو مجلس أمناء الاتحاد العالمي لعلماء المسلمين أ. د. إبراهيم أبو محمد، كلمة في المظاهرة الكبرى ضد العدوان الإسرائيلي على قطاع غزة في فلسطين يوم الأحد 12 ديسمبر الجاري.

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
أشرف اليوم بمخاطبة هذا الجمع المتنوع من الحاضرين، وأقدر عالياً مواقفكم الداعمة لقضايا العدل والإنسانية والكرامة.
· أيها السادة والسيدات، حرية التعبير عن الرأي أغلى من الحياة ذاتها، ونأمل أن يظل بلدنا واحة للحرية بمعناها الواسع، ولذلك أحثكم جميعًا على المحافظة على حرية التعبير والدفاع عنها بقوة وصدق ومنطق وأدب.
· كما نحث كل المواطنين في استراليا على احترام قوانين مجتمعنا الحر، ونرفض بشدة أن تتعرض حرية التعبير إلى محاكم تفتيش جديدة، وأن يفقد الإنسان مكانه ووظيفته إذا مارس حقه في التعبير عن رأيه وأدان العدوان.
· ونأمل أن نعمل سويًا لضمان أن يعيش الجميع في أستراليا في أمن وسلام. كما نرجو ألا نسمح أبدا بتعكير أمن بلدنا، ولا بانتقال الصراعات الخارجية إلى داخل استراليا.
· أيها السادة والسيدات: الإسلام يرى العالم كمنتدى للحضارات والثقافات المتنوعة حيث يعيش الناس متساوين في الحقوق والواجبات. ونشير هنا إلى التاريخ الطويل للعيش المشترك بين المسلمين واليهود والمسيحيين في المجتمعات الإسلامية، مع التأكيد على أن هذا التعايش لم يكن إجبارياً بل كان نتيجة للتسامح الديني، يُذكر ذلك الكاتب الإسرائيلي أوري أفنيري في مقال له بعنوان: "سيف محمد" الذي يشيد فيه بكيفية تعامل الإسلام مع الأديان الأخرى ويؤكد على الحماية التي قدمها الإسلام لليهود عبر التاريخ ، ويختتم القول بالإشارة إلى أن التاريخ يظهر كيف أن اليهود استقبلوا بترحيب في العالم الإسلامي عندما فروا من الاضطهاد في أوروبا، ومن ثم فكل يهودي مستقيم، يعرف تاريخ شعبه، لا يمكنه إلا أن يشعر بالعرفان تجاه الإسلام، الذي حمى اليهود طيلة خمسين جيلا" انتهي كلام أفنيري.
· أيها السادة والسيدات: نؤكد أن النزاع ليس بين الديانتين، ونرفض محاولات البعض في أن يجعلوه صراعا دينينا، لأنه في الحقيقة صراع بين مشروع استعماري عنصري محتل، وبين أهل فلسطين أصحاب الأرض.
· هذا الاحتلال الإسرائيلي لأرض فلسطين ضاعف من معاناة الشعب الفلسطيني على مدى أكثر من 70 عامًا ذاق الشعب الفلسطيني خلالها كل أنواع الإذلال والسحق والفصل العنصري، وأسفر عن قتل وإبادة وتهجير ملايين الفلسطينيين من أرضهم، وها نحن نعيش اليوم دورة من دوراته القذرة في غزة، حيث يشاهد العالم مذابح مأساوية لمدنيين سقط فيها ما يقرب من : 18 ألف شهيد (منهم 8 آلاف طفل و5 آلاف امرأة)، إضافة إلى 50 ألف جريح (منهم 8600 طفل و6300 امرأة)، و7600 مفقودين وتحت الركام.
· هذه الأرقام ليست مجرد إحصائيات، بل تمثل حياة فردية، كل منها له قصته الخاصة وآماله وأحلامه. وقد كانت هناك عائلات بالكامل محيت من سجلات الحياة.
لذلك نؤكد على الحاجة لإنهاء الإبادة الجماعية للمدنيين والنساء والأطفال ووقف هذه الحرب التي لا تستهدف الفلسطينيين فقط، وإنما هي حرب ضد كل مظاهر الحضارة الإنسانية حيث استهدفت ولا زالت تستهدف المستشفيات والمدارس ومركز الإيواء والمخابز، وتعاقب من بقي على قيد الحياة بالتجويع والعطش ومنع المياه والكهرباء والدواء وشتى مرافق الحياة، ومن ثم فكل المسؤولين في إسرائيل ومن يساندهم يجب محاكمتهم كمجرمي حرب ومرتكبي جرائم ضد الإنسانية في محكمة الجنايات الدولية.
· وفي ختام كلمتي، أود أن أؤكد على أهمية العمل معًا من أجل مستقبل أفضل في بلدنا العزيز أستراليا. يقوم على العدل والمساواة والاحترام المتبادل. كما نؤكد أننا بإصرارنا على الوقوف بجانب الحق، وإصرارنا على استرداد حقوق الضعفاء والمظلومين ورفض العدوان على حياة الإنسان وكرامته واحتلال أرضه، وأننا بالثبات على هذه المبادئ أيها السادة نستطيع المحافظة على إنسانيتنا، ويمكننا أن نحمي أيضا حق الحياة، وأن نساهم في بناء مجتمع يكون فيه السلام والعدل والحرية أساسا للتعايش.
· عاشت فلسطين حرة أبية وشكرا لشعبها الصامد الثابت المضحي الذي انتصر في ميدان الصبر والثبات والأخلاق، قبل أن ينتصر في الميدان العسكري.

In the name of God, the most gracious, the most merciful
"Address by Eminence theGrand Mufti of Australia,
Dr. Ibrahim Abu Muhammad. at the Major Demonstration on Sunday,
12/12/2023, Against the War in Palestine.
Peace be upon you, and God’s mercy and blessings.
Today, I am honored to address this diverse gathering, and I highly appreciate your supportive stance on issues of justice, humanity, and dignity.
· Ladies and gentlemen, the freedom of expression is more precious than life itself, and we hope that our country remains a haven of freedom in its broadest sense. Therefore, I urge you all to preserve the freedom of expression and defend it with strength, honesty, logic, and decorum.
· We also urge all citizens in Australia to respect the laws of our free society, and we strongly reject any new forms of inquisition against freedom of expression, or the loss of one's position and job for exercising the right to express an opinion and condemn aggression.
· We hope to work together to ensure that everyone in Australia lives in security and peace. We also hope never to allow the disruption of our country's security, nor the transfer of external conflicts into Australia.
· Ladies and gentlemen: Islam sees the world as a forum for diverse civilizations and cultures where people live equally in rights and duties. We point here to the long history of coexistence between Muslims, Jews, and Christians in Islamic societies, emphasizing that this coexistence was not forced but a result of religious tolerance. This is mentioned by Israeli writer Uri Avnery in his article "Muhammad's Sword," praising how Islam deals with other religions and confirming the protection Islam has provided to Jews throughout history, concluding that history shows how Jews were welcomed in the Islamic world when they fled persecution in Europe. Therefore, every righteous Jew, who knows their people's history, can only feel gratitude towards Islam, which has protected the Jews for fifty generations. This concludes Avnery's statement.
· Ladies and gentlemen: We assert that the conflict is not between religions, but between a racist colonial occupying project and the Palestinian people, the rightful owners of the land. The Israeli occupation of Palestinian land has doubled the suffering of the Palestinian people over more than 70 years, experiencing all forms of humiliation, oppression, apartheid, resulting in the killing, genocide, and displacement of the land's owners. Today, we witness another cycle of its dirty rounds in Gaza, where the world sees tragic massacres of civilians, including 18,000 martyrs (including 8,000 children and 5,000 women), in addition to 50,000 injured (including 8,600 children and 6,300 women), and 7,600 missing under the rubble.
· These numbers are not just statistics; they represent individual lives, each with its own story, hopes, and dreams. Entire families have been erased from the records of life.
· Therefore, we emphasize the need to end the mass extermination of civilians, women, and children and to stop this war that targets not only Palestinians but is a war against all aspects of human civilization, targeting hospitals, schools, shelters, and bakeries, and punishing those who remain alive with starvation, thirst, and deprivation of water, electricity, medicine, and various life facilities. Hence, all those responsible in Israel for this war must be prosecuted as war criminals in the International Criminal Court.
· In conclusion, I would like to emphasize the importance of working together for a better future in our beloved country, Australia, based on justice, equality, and mutual respect. By insisting on standing by the truth, reclaiming the rights of the weak and oppressed, and rejecting aggression against human life, dignity, and land occupation, we maintain our humanity. We can also protect the right to life and contribute to building a society where peace, justice, and freedom are the basis for coexistence.
· Long live free and dignified Palestine, and thanks to its steadfast, resilient, sacrificing people who triumphed in the fields of patience, steadfastness, and morals, before the military field.
