IUMS congratulates Egyptian leadership on success in bringing home kidnapped soldiers

All praise be to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon God’s messenger Muhammad, his family, companions, and followers;

The International Union of Muslim Scholars followed the process of releasing the seven Egyptian soldiers kidnapped lately in Sinai, thus ending a crisis that raised bitter emotions among Egyptian citizens, particularly the army and police, and dooming to failure all attempts to cause a rift between the Palestinian and Egyptian people, or between the Egyptian presidency and Egyptian forces.

In view of this blissful news worthy of salute and appreciation, the IUMS affirms the following:

First: congratulates Egyptian President Dr. Mohamed Morsi, Egyptian army leadership, and all those who provided help so the seven soldiers made a safe return home without resorting to deals or bargains with the kidnappers. And we reaffirm gratitude to the Egyptian presidency that set as its target emerging out of the crisis with the minimum losses.

Second: the union calls for further proximity between the presidency and all state institutions whether military or civil as this latest crisis has proved that collaboration between the army and the presidency was fruitful and that the sincere Egyptian army and the great Egyptian people are united as one hand.

{And God will surely support those who support Him [i.e., His cause]. Indeed, God is Powerful and Exalted in Might.}
