IUMS statement condemns massacres committed by Syrian, Iranian regimes, and Hizbullah militias
Praise be to Allah and peace and blessings be upon God’s messenger Muhammad, upon his family, companions and followers;
The International Union of Muslim Scholars has followed with extreme concern the developments of incidents on the Syrian front, particularly in the town of Al-Qusayr which was subject to annihilation and sabotage by the Syrian army, backed by Iran and its affiliates the Lebanese Hizbullah militias. These incidents unveiled the true face of this triangle and dropped the false mask of this cowardly triangle that employed all its advanced military capacities, both land and air, in bombarding the town leading to many deaths, the destruction of homes over their inhabitants, and gained full control over the city after bringing it down to rubbles as a result of consecutive aerial bombing.
In view of this grave situation, the IUMS calls for and asserts the following:
First: the IUMS condemns in the severest possible terms the heinous crimes and barbaric practices committed by the Syrian regime against its people, with the support of the Iranian regime and its affiliates in Lebanon, especially in the town of Al-Qusayr, and considers this collaboration a declaration of war against all Muslims in the Muslim world not only in Syria.
Second: the union calls the Muslim nation to fulfill their duty of defending their brothers and sisters in Syria who are fighting one of the fiercest battles today, and are subject to an organized extermination war, in cooperation with elitist, bloody, barbaric powers. So be mindful of Allah, Muslims, be you Arabs or non-Arabs, in the orient or occident, and do not hold back from defending your fellow Muslims when Allah commanded that {if they seek your aid in religion, it is your duty to help them,} [Quran, Al-Anfal 8: 72], particularly since the oppressive side has shown its face evidently. So do not hesitate in fighting them until they comply with God’s commands and return to their senses.
Third: the union calls scholars, intellects, politicians, and political parties of the nation to declare Friday June 14th, 2013 as a day of anger and support for the Syrian people through protests, speeches in mosques, peaceful strikes, prayers, and all available means to condemn the ferocious attack lead by the Syrian and Iranian regime and their affiliates in Lebanon against the unarmed Syrian people.
{And soon will the unjust assailants know what vicissitudes their affairs will take!} [Quran, Ash-Shu`ara 26:227] and Allah is sufficient for us and is the best Disposer of Affairs.
