The delegation of the Union visits the center of the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD).

Istanbul, Turkey - The International Union of Muslim Scholars (IUMS) continues to lead the way in providing aid and assistance to those affected by disasters around the world. In collaboration with the relevant authorities in affected countries, a delegation from the IUMS visited the center of the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) in Turkey to provide support to those affected by the recent earthquake.

During their visit, the head of the center informed the delegation that the response to the disaster from the Turkish people and Muslim communities had been incredibly strong. He cited examples such as a woman who sold her cow to donate the proceeds to the needy, young children who donated their daily allowance, and businessmen who supported charitable projects with their funds. The head of the center also pointed out that AFAD's mission is to distribute aid effectively and quickly to all those in need in all affected cities.

Thanks to the support received from rescue teams from Islamic and other countries, the center has been able to rescue and extract thousands of people from under the rubble. The head of the center confirmed that the center is continuing to provide support and assistance to those in need. The delegation expressed their admiration for the efforts of AFAD in dealing with the humanitarian crisis resulting from the earthquake.

They praised the close cooperation between relevant authorities in responding to the disaster, which allowed for a quick and effective response.
