The Union expresses condolences on the passing of Sheikh Dr. Hussein Khalaf Al-Jubouri, Deputy Secretary-General of the Association of Muslim Scholars in Iraq. "Allah takes souls at the time of their death, and [the souls] of those that do not die during their sleep. He retains those souls for which He has ordained death, whereas He releases the rest for an appointed term" [Qur'an 39:42]. With hearts full of faith and acceptance of Allah's decree, we received the news of the passing of Sheikh Dr. Hussein Khalaf Al-Jubouri, Deputy Secretary-General of the Association of Muslim Scholars in Iraq, and a professor of Islamic jurisprudence at the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies at Umm Al-Qura University in Mecca, after a life filled with knowledge, teaching, research, and writing, particularly in the fields of jurisprudence and its fundamentals. We ask Allah Almighty to forgive him, have mercy on him, grant him the best reward, honor his abode, admit him to Paradise, gather him with the prophets, the truthful, and the righteous, and make him their companion. We also ask Allah to grant his family, loved ones, colleagues, and friends patience and solace. Indeed, He is the best Lord and the best answerer. Amen.
