The Union offers condolences on the death of Sheikh Ismail Abdullah Kouri, member of the Union and director of Al-Nour Institute for Preparing Preachers in Benin
Almighty Allah said: (O soul at peace, return to your Lord, well-pleased and pleasing, and enter among My servants, and enter My Paradise) Surah Al-Fajr 27-30.
We received with believing hearts, satisfied with the decree of Allah and His predestination, the news of the death of Sheikh Ismail Abdullah Kouri, director of Al-Nour Institute for Preparing Preachers in Benin and a member of the World Association of Muslim Scholars.
Early life and education
He studied in Benin and the Islamic University in Niger, then traveled to Kuwait and studied in the College of Education, and worked there until he returned as an envoy for the Kuwaiti Ministry of Awqaf in Benin. He was actively involved in preaching throughout his life.
The deceased - may Allah have mercy on him - was one of the founders of the Teacher and Preacher Preparation Institute in Kandi, Benin. He worked in the student activities of expatriates at the Sheikh Abdullah Al-Nouri Association and worked in the World Union of Student Organizations. He also worked as a secretary for Sheikh Mustafa Al-Tahan and was fluent in three languages: Arabic, English, and French, in addition to local languages.
His qualities and morals
The deceased - may Allah have mercy on him - was known for his sincerity in preaching, humility, asceticism in this world, patience in life's circumstances, steadfastness on the path of truth, and connecting with relatives. He called for the spread of goodness and love among people and was a pioneering founder of Islamic work in his country.
We ask Almighty Allah to forgive him, bestow His wide mercy upon him, pardon him, grant him the best reward, honor his residence, admit him to Paradise, and gather him with the prophets, the truthful, and the good companions. May He inspire his family, loved ones, colleagues, and friends with patience and solace. Indeed, He is the best guardian and the best responder. Amen.
Indeed, we belong to Allah, and to Him, we shall return.
