The International Union of Muslim Scholars Condoles the Passing of Renowned Scholar, Sheikh Dr. Munir Hamid Al-Bayati

Allah, the Almighty, said in Surah Al-Fajr (27-30): "O soul at peace, return to your Lord, well-pleased and pleasing, and enter among My servants, and enter My Paradise."

With deep sorrow, the International Union of Muslim Scholars extends its condolences on the passing of the distinguished scholar and jurist, Sheikh Dr. Munir Hamid Al-Bayati, who departed this world at the age of ninety-three.

In this moment of profound loss, we mourn the departure of a luminary who illuminated the paths of knowledge and faith with his profound understanding and valuable contributions. Sheikh Al-Bayati was not only a scholar and jurist but also an influential educator, leaving an indelible mark on the minds of students with his vast knowledge and noble character. His profound impact extended to the fields of education and religious outreach.

The late scholar left a deep imprint in the realms of education and religious propagation. His contributions to the interpretation and translation of the Quran into multiple languages reflected his comprehensive vision for conveying the Islamic message to the world.

Throughout his life, he dedicated himself to the service of knowledge and society, having served as the Director of the Translation Center at the King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Holy Quran. His prominent role in providing accurate translations and a correct understanding of Quranic texts in various languages contributed significantly to enhancing understanding and communication between different cultures.

In the fields of Islamic fundamentals and languages, Sheikh Al-Bayati distinguished himself through his mastery of several Eastern and global languages, enabling him to accomplish numerous books and research works, effectively disseminating knowledge.

His departure leaves a significant void in the religious and academic realms. Nevertheless, his rich scholarly legacy will stand as a testament to his dedication and enduring contributions.

The Islamic Ummah has lost a devoted scholar and sheikh among its ranks. We beseech Almighty Allah, the Most Compassionate and Merciful, to envelop him in His boundless mercy, forgive his sins, and grant him a place in the highest ranks of Paradise, among the prophets and the righteous. We also ask Allah to grant patience and solace to his family and loved ones. Surely, He is the Bestower of kindness and the Responsive One.

"Indeed, to Allah we belong, and to Him we shall return."
