Doha: Conference on Prophetic Biography 2024 to Highlight the Significance of "Evidences of Prophethood in the Modern Era"

The Mohammed bin Hamad Al Thani Center for Contributions of Muslims to Civilization, part of Hamad Bin Khalifa University’s College of Islamic Studies, is set to host the 2024 Conference on Prophetic Biography. This year’s theme is “The Importance of Evidence of Prophethood in Contemporary Times,” aimed at exploring historical and modern aspects of prophetic evidence and its relevance as proof of the Prophethood of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

The conference will delve into the critical role of the evidence of Prophethood in shaping contemporary Islamic thought and beliefs, while addressing the challenges faced by Muslims today. It seeks to provide a comprehensive study of the significance of this field and its impact on contemporary issues.

Additionally, the conference will highlight the center’s efforts to translate classical Islamic academic works that have significantly contributed to human civilization throughout history, underlining that these achievements were inspired by the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

The second edition of the Conference on Prophetic Biography will take place on September 25-26, 2024 (22-23 Safar 1446 AH), featuring a distinguished lineup of scholars and specialists in the fields of Islamic creed and philosophy.

Among the prominent participants is Sheikh Dr. Ali Mohiuddin al-Qaradaghi, President of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, who will present a scholarly paper titled “Evidence of Prophethood and Its Role in Establishing Concepts of Prophethood.” Dr. Raafat Muhammad Rashed Al-Miqati, a member of the Union and President of the University of Tripoli in Lebanon, will also present a paper titled “Contemporary Insights into the Treasures of Prophetic Evidence.”

The conference will consist of five main sessions, covering topics such as “Evidence of Prophethood between the Past and Present,” “Modern Scientific Thinking and the Logic of Evidence,” and “Utilizing the Literature of Prophetic Evidence in Contemporary Contexts.” Further discussions will explore “Prophetic Evidence and Its Role in Countering Modern Atheism,” and “The Literature of Prophetic Evidence and Its Relationship with Others.”
