The International Union of Muslim Scholars Welcomes ICC Arrest Warrant Against Israeli Prime Minister and Defense Minister (Statement)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds, and peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and companions.
The International Union of Muslim Scholars (IUMS) follows with great interest the developments surrounding the International Criminal Court (ICC) and expresses its deep appreciation for the recent decision to issue an arrest warrant against the Prime Minister of the Zionist entity, Benjamin Netanyahu, and his Defense Minister, Yoav Gallant.
This decision represents a significant step toward achieving international justice and vindicating the Palestinian people, who continue to endure severe violations of their fundamental human rights and war crimes committed by the occupying forces without accountability.
The IUMS considers this decision a vital development in the global effort to hold perpetrators of serious crimes under international law accountable. It sends a strong message that the international community will not tolerate war crimes or genocide, regardless of the rank or position of those responsible.
While the union commends this step, it urges the ICC and the international community to pursue legal procedures with diligence and determination, ensuring the enforcement of international law and preventing criminals from escaping justice.
The IUMS calls on the Islamic Ummah and the global community to continue supporting the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples through all legitimate means in their struggle to reclaim their land and rights and to work toward ending all forms of occupation.
The union also emphasizes the importance of providing material and moral support through charitable organizations and humanitarian agencies to alleviate the suffering of these resilient peoples and strengthen their steadfastness in these trying times.
We pray to Allah, the Almighty, to uphold the truth, abolish falsehood, and guide us all in supporting the oppressed, establishing justice, and alleviating the hardships faced by the Muslim Ummah.
"And never think that Allah is unaware of what the wrongdoers do" (Ibrahim: 42).
