trengthening Pakistan-Afghanistan Relations: Meeting Between Asif Luqman Qazi and Afghan Ambassador in Islamabad
The Director of Foreign Affairs for Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan and Assistant Secretary-General of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, Mr. Asif Luqman Qazi, met with Afghanistan's Ambassador to Pakistan, Mr. Sardar Ahmad Shakeeb, at the Afghan Embassy in Islamabad on Friday. This meeting was held at the ambassador's invitation.
Discussions focused on several proposals aimed at enhancing bilateral relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
During the meeting, the Afghan ambassador extended an invitation to the Emir of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, Mr. Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, to visit Kabul. He also expressed Afghanistan’s readiness to host leaders of Pakistani political parties in the Afghan capital.
Mr. Asif Luqman Qazi thanked the Afghan ambassador for the invitation, stating that he would convey it to the leadership of Jamaat-e-Islami.
Highlighting the historical ties between the two nations, Mr. Qazi emphasized that the people of Pakistan and Afghanistan share a deep-rooted legacy of religious, cultural, and economic connections. He stressed the importance of strengthening these ties through dialogue and mutual understanding to address shared challenges.
The Afghan ambassador echoed these sentiments, underscoring that fostering understanding between the two peoples is essential to counter attempts by external parties to exploit gaps and incite discord.
This meeting marks a continued effort to fortify bilateral relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan at both the grassroots and political levels.
