Istanbul Hosts Second International Conference by Al-Aqsa Trustees Foundation under the Theme: "The Nation's Preachers... Guardians of Al-Aqsa"
The second international conference organized by the Al-Aqsa Trustees Foundation for Preachers and Sharia Graduates commenced on Saturday, December 14, 2024, in Istanbul, Turkey. The two-day event (December 14–15) is held in collaboration with scholarly institutions from across the Islamic world.
Under the theme “The Nation’s Preachers… Guardians of Al-Aqsa”, the conference aims to further strengthen cooperation among scholars and preachers in their support for the Palestinian cause.
The event features a distinguished lineup of prominent scholars and preachers, including:
- Prof. Ali Erbaş, President of Turkish Religious Affairs,
- Dr. Ali Mohieddin Al-Qaradaghi, President of the International Union of Muslim Scholars,
- Dr. Essam Al-Bashir, President of the Foundation and Vice President of the Union,
- Prof. Mehmet Görmez, former President of Turkish Religious Affairs,
- Sheikh Khalilur Rahman Sajjad Nomani from India,
- Dr. Marwan Abu Ras, Chair of the Union’s Jerusalem Committee, and
- Sheikh Aflah Al-Khalili, representative of the Grand Mufti of Oman.
The conference convenes at a critical juncture for the Islamic Ummah, offering a platform to promote unified and sustainable collaboration in advocating for the Palestinian cause.
It also provides an opportunity to activate the role of preachers and Sharia graduates in defending Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque, while consolidating collective efforts to address current challenges.
The inaugural conference of the Al-Aqsa Trustees Foundation for Preachers and Sharia Graduates was held in October 2023. Since then, the Foundation has been committed to empowering preachers worldwide in their mission to serve Jerusalem and Palestine.
