Al-Qaradaghi receives the Japanese Embassy Political Secretary at union headquarters
Dr. Ali Al-Qaradaghi, the Secretary General of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, received at the union headquarters in Doha Mr. Takahiro Kako, Political Secretary of the Japanese Embassy Sunday March 19th 2013 in the presence of Public Relations Director Walid Al-Haidari.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed a number of issues related to the Arab and Muslim world as well as global issues and the possibilities of joint cooperation to defend just causes. On the occasion, Mr. Kako praised the statement issued by the union urging support for earthquake victims in Japan.
The Political Secretary clarified that Japan is concerned with matters related to peace and the recent changes witnessed in the Arab and Muslim world. He also elaborated that Japan devotes greater attention to the viewpoints of scholars and intellects in the IUMS concerning these issues. During the meeting, Dr. Ali Al-Qaradaghi gave an introductory note about the union, its programs and activities, especially the union’s role in cross-cultural and interfaith dialogue as well as reconciliation and conflict resolution.
The Political Secretary of the Japanese Embassy also discussed the Iraqi crisis and expressed concern over a sectarian strife but at the same time expressed optimism that Iraqis will evade such sedition, God wills it.
