IUMS mourns the departure of Sheikh Abdul Kader Al-Mullah, condemns unjust execution by Bangladeshi government
All praise be to Allah and peace and blessings be upon His messenger, upon his family, companions, and those who follow his guidance.
The International Union of Muslim Scholars received with utmost grief news of the execution of Sheikh Abdul Kader Al-Mullah on December 12th at the hands of the inequitable Bangladeshi judiciary. The execution came in a flagrant violation of all the accepted rules and laws of justice all over the world and a complete disregard of all efforts and petitions by more than one Islamic and rights entity. These sides pleaded a reconsideration due to the Sheikh’s age as well his social and scholarly rank as he was the deputy secretary general of the jamaat-e-islami party of wide prevalence in Bangladesh.
The union, as it carries the sad news to the Muslim nation, sends its consolation to the Muslim Bangladeshi nation, as well as his family and pleads to Allah to accept him as a martyr, grant his family patience and solace, to reward them equally to the patient ones, and (To Allah we belong and to Him is our return). At the same time, the union holds the Bangladeshi government completely responsible for the injustice and discrimination inflicted on Muslims in Bangladesh, particularly religious preachers and active scholars.
{They plot and plan, and Allah too plans; but the best of planners is Allah.} [Quran 8:30].
