UN Official States: 10,000 Dead in Gaza in a Month, a "Humanitarian Challenge" for the World

In an early Tuesday post on platform "X", Martin Griffiths, the UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, underscored the dire situation in the Gaza Strip, describing the high mortality rate as a "humanitarian challenge" to the global community.

Griffiths articulated on platform "X", stating, "The death of 10,000 individuals in the Gaza Strip since October 7th stands as a stark humanitarian challenge."

The Government Media Office in Gaza reported early Tuesday that approximately 2 percent of Gaza's population have fallen as direct casualties of the aggression, whether killed or injured.

The report also highlighted that Gaza's hospitals are currently admitting an average of one injury per minute and recording 15 deaths every hour. Specifically, the rate of child fatalities is averaging six per hour, and female fatalities five per hour.

Over the past 32 days, the Israeli military's "destructive war" on Gaza has resulted in the deaths of 10,022 Palestinians, including 4,104 children and 2,641 women, with more than 25,000 others injured. In the West Bank, the conflict has led to 160 Palestinian deaths and 2,150 detentions, as per official Palestinian figures.
