Celebrations in Istanbul Over Ceasefire Agreement and Condemnation of Israeli Atrocities

Dozens of citizens gathered outside the Israeli Consulate in Istanbul to celebrate the announcement of a ceasefire agreement in Gaza while denouncing the acts of genocide committed by the Israeli occupation forces against Palestinians.

Participants arrived at the consulate on Wednesday/Thursday evening in vehicles adorned with Turkish and Palestinian flags, following a city-wide procession. They chanted slogans condemning the Israeli occupation.

Speaking on behalf of the demonstrators, citizen Emin Furkan Çelik praised Hamas for achieving a significant victory against oppression. He highlighted the perseverance of Palestinians in Gaza despite enduring suffering and genocide.

"The people of Gaza stood firm and resisted. Despite all the resources at their disposal, these murderous Zionists were humiliated by Hamas," Çelik declared.

Official Announcement of the Ceasefire Agreement

Earlier on Wednesday, Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman announced in a press conference in Doha that mediators had successfully brokered an agreement for a prisoner exchange and a long-term truce. This includes a permanent ceasefire in Gaza and the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the area.

The implementation of the agreement is set to begin next Sunday.

Humanitarian Toll of the Conflict

This announcement comes after 467 days of relentless Israeli aggression and genocide in Gaza. The conflict has resulted in over 156,000 deaths and injuries, the majority of whom were children and women. More than 11,000 individuals remain missing amidst widespread destruction and a severe famine, marking one of the worst humanitarian disasters globally.
