secretary-General of World Muslim Scholars Union Invites Grand Sheikh of Al-Azhar to Join Relief Convoy for Gaza via Rafah Crossing"

In a remarkable and commendable move, the Secretary-General of the World Union of Muslim Scholars extended an invitation to His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the Grand Sheikh of Al-Azhar, urging him to join together in a relief convoy to aid the besieged residents of Gaza via the Rafah crossing.

In the letter, the Secretary-General expressed appreciation for the honorable stance taken by the Grand Sheikh of Al-Azhar in response to the ongoing events.

Visiting the Rafah Crossing

However, he pointed out that condemnation alone is not sufficient, especially with Egypt controlling the Rafah crossing. His Eminence the Grand Sheikh of Al-Azhar has the potential to have a greater influence on the situation given his standing and position with the President of Egypt.

The Secretary-General added that practical steps are required at this time, emphasizing that the invitation to participate in a relief convoy is a timely duty. He confirmed that the World Union of Muslim Scholars, indeed the entire Islamic world, stands collectively behind this humanitarian initiative.

Confronting the Gaza Genocide

In conclusion, the Secretary-General underscored the importance of not remaining silent in the face of the tragedy in Gaza and the necessity of addressing the ongoing genocide and comprehensive destruction the region is experiencing.

He stressed that condemnation alone is insufficient, and everyone must take action and work according to their capacity to address this tragic humanitarian situation. Islamic countries, particularly the surrounding nations, are obligated to put an end to this genocide and racial war with all available means.
