The Secretary-General of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, Sheikh Dr. Ali bin Muhammad Al-Sallabi, expressed his appreciation for the positions of Arab and Islamic countries, and the peoples of the free world, which have shown strong solidarity and steadfast support for the rights of the Palestinians and their just cause.
Statement text:
The Union expresses its strong condemnation of the Zionist aggression, genocide, attempts at forced displacement, and targeting of innocent civilians, including children and women from the Palestinian people in Gaza and the occupied territories in Palestine, who face violation of their rights, desecration of their land, and assault on their dignity by the brutal occupying Zionist entity armed with the latest weapons, and supported by the decisions and policies of major countries amid the silence of Islamic countries.
It affirms the following:
1/ Commending the resilience of the Palestinian people and their defense of their land and honor.
2/ Thanking the countries that have taken sincere and free stances, strongly rejecting these inhumane violations against the Palestinian people, including South Africa and Brazil.
3/ The necessity of uniting Islamic and global efforts to end injustice, oppression, and repression contrary to the teachings of Islam and the principles of human justice, and to confront the brutal Israeli violations against the afflicted and overpowered Palestinian people, by all possible means.
4/ Supporting the efforts made by some countries - especially African ones - to reform the United Nations Security Council and its institutions, and ensure fair and balanced representation of all member states, enhancing its capacity to effectively and justly resolve international conflicts.
5/ Providing safe conditions and immediately facilitating the delivery of humanitarian aid to the besieged north and south of the Gaza Strip, where hunger and lack of medicine threaten the lives of thousands of its residents - especially children, women, and the elderly - who face the "risk of famine" and suffer from hunger and lack of food supplies in the sector, under extremely dangerous conditions.
6/ Designating the upcoming Friday sermon (13 Sha'ban 1445 AH, corresponding to February 23, 2024) to the crime of starvation in Gaza.
Allah Almighty says: "Do not weaken and do not grieve, and you will be superior if you are true believers" (Al-Imran: 139).
Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you.
