The General Secretariat Meeting of the Union: Priority for Implementing the Strategic Plan for 2025
The General Secretariat of the Union convened a meeting yesterday, Tuesday, presided over by His Excellency the Secretary-General, Dr. Ali Al-Sallabi. The meeting lasted for over an hour and addressed several critical issues concerning the Union’s directions for the year 2025.
Dr. Al-Sallabi emphasized that matters have become clearer this year compared to previous periods and that the current priority is to implement the annual strategic plan. He invoked Allah’s blessings for sincerity, excellence, and quality in all endeavors.
He highlighted the necessity of involving scholars capable of executing the strategic plan approved by the Board of Trustees, stressing the importance of linking this plan to the Civilizational Revival Project.
Dr. Al-Sallabi noted that the significant changes occurring in the Islamic world are a blessing from Allah, and he affirmed the Union’s commitment to supporting crucial causes, foremost among them the Palestinian cause.
Addressing the Situation in Gaza
The meeting discussed the potential approach to a ceasefire in the region and emphasized the need to prepare for the post-war phase, particularly in the areas of relief and aid, with a focus on the Union's role in educational and scientific domains.
Global Campaigns and Islamic Values
The importance of activating the Union’s role in advocating for Islamic constants and supporting families was stressed, with a call for coordination among scholars and Muslim communities.
The session also underscored the need to follow up on the Union's branches in regions such as the Balkans and Central Africa, as well as to support persecuted minorities.
Reform Projects and Consultation
The meeting addressed reform projects and the necessity of engaging imams and preachers in coordination with relevant authorities. It also highlighted the importance of continuous consultation in making decisions regarding political issues, adhering to the methodological guidelines set by the Board of Trustees.
Concluding Prayers
The session concluded with prayers for mercy upon the martyrs in Palestine, the release of those detained arbitrarily in Gaza and other regions, and a swift resolution to their plight.
